  Somatic cell hybrids were from fusion of Chinese hamster E36 cell line and A/HeJ mouse peritoneal macrophages (MACH) or SEC/1ReJ mouse embryo fibroblasts (MEC). Two primary clones, 10 secondary HAT selected clones, 4 secondary 8-azaguanine backselected clones and 5 nonselected secondary clones representing 14 independent fusions were analyzed. Mouse chromosome complement was determined by karyotyping and Glk activity was determined by starch gel electrophoresis.
