  Revised gene symbol: d (formerly Emv-3). MEV stock developed to combine six MuLV provirus genes of C58/J, three of AKR/J and 1 of DBA/2J.
• Experiment
  Pooled DNAs from (MEV-Emv-28 Emv-29 x C57BL/6J-pk)F2 that were pk/pk were scored for Emv-loci. Absence of a 6.6 kb PvuII viral fragment indicated linkage between pk and Emv21. This linkage was confirmed by individual testing of 12 pk/pk progeny from (MEV-Emv-28 Emv-29 x C57BL/6J-pk)F2 and 19 progeny from (MEV/1Ty x C57BL/6J-pk)F2. Pooled data gave a recombination estimate of 6.8 +/- 4.7% for the pk-Emv21 interval.
