    DNA from mouse x Chinese hamster somatic cell hybrids was digested with EcoRI and analyzed on Southern blots using pMKSU16, a mouse POMC cDNA probe. Mouse Pomc2, which appeared as a 5.3kb band, segregated with Chromosome 19. The assignment of Pomc2 to Chromosome 19 was confirmed in a subclone of hybrid MACH-2A2 where Chromosomes 2, 6, 16 and 18 were eliminated, but Pomc2 was present.
