  Emv-15^a was associated with strains that carry the agouti alleles A, A^w, A^vy, A^iy, a^m, a^x, a^jl and a^e; Emv-15^b was associated with strains that carry the agouti alleles a, A^sy, A^w-J, Aⁱ and a^t-42J. Emv-15^v is associated with the agouti allele A^y. A discordant association suggesting crossing over is evident in SM/J-A^w/a which is Emv-15^a/^a and not Emv-15^a/^b; SM/J-a/a which is Emv-15^a/^a and not Emv-15^b/^b and YS/Icr which is Emv-15^v/^v and A^y/a or a/a.
