Hbvi Southern analysis 4/12
Notes
  • Reference
Revised gene symbol: Hbvi (formerly D13Pas2).
  • Experiment
Two transgenic male mice, Tg(OHBV)E11-Pas (E11) and Tg(13HBV)E36-Pas (E36) have similar hepatitis B viral (HBV) DNA sequences in their genome. These mice differ in the genetic transmission of hepatitis B surface antigen expression. The E36 insertion was cloned and a flanking probe identified, that detected a polymorphism useful in screening a SPE/Pas and C57BL/6JPas backcross. The locus identified, Hbvi, mapped to Chromosome 13 and displayed imprinting whereby passage through the female germ line resulted in methylation of the transgenic HBV sequences.
