• Experiment
  The locus for Emv-1 was suggested to be on the same chromosome in 15 strains based on the detection of identical restriction fragments of the provirus from these strains. The strains analyzed were A/HeJ, A/J, A/WySnJ, BALB/cByJ, BALB/cGnEi, BALB/cJ, BALB/cWtEi, CBA/J, C3HeB/FeJ, C3H/HeJ, C3H/HeSnJ, FS/Ei, SEC/1ReJ, SM/J and HTG/GoSfSn using PvuII, HindIII, XbaI, BamHI and PstI. Emv-1has been assigned to Chromosome 5, but a specific chromosome assignment was not made in this reference.
