  Bc11 digest of mouse DNA were probed on Southern blots for hybridization of probe 70-38. DNA sequences homologous to the probe were found on multiple chromosomes. In strains NZB/BlNJ hybridization was observed on Chromosome 13 (gene D13Was70). In situ hybridization to metaphase chromosomes (data not provided) confirmed the assignment to be centromeric.
