Notes
  • Experiment
A 5' probe from the genomic clone AFP14 was used to isolate non-repetitive sequences from the 5' end of Afp. Clone AFP15 from a BALB/c embryonic genomic library hybridized at its 3' end with this probe suggesting that AFP14 and AFP15 overlap by 5 kb. Restriction mapping of AFP15 showed 16 identical fragments to those observed with clone lambda-alb-6 which covers the 3' end of Alb. Hybridization with additional probes shows that clone AFP15 contains the 3' end of Alb and the 5' end of Afp, and places the Alb gene 13.5 kb upstream from Afp.
