  Histoincompatibility between C57BL/10 mice and the H-3 congenic strain B10.LP-a was observed in B10.LP-a mice rejecting skin from (B10.UW-we x C57BL/10)F1 mice. This resulted in the identification of a new locus on Chromosome 2 with the gene symbol H-44.In another experiment, (B10.KR-a x B10.KR-A^w)F1 mice rejected C57BL/10 skin demonstrating another histoincompatability at a locus at or near H-3 on Chromosome 2. This locus was given the symbol H-45.
