Notes
  • Experiment
V(D)J recombination was determined to be controlled by two genes, Rag-1 and Rag-2, on Chromosome 2. These genes are contained on a single 18kb genomic clone 12C.2. A walk from Rag-2 to Rag-1 on clone 12C.2 showed that the loci are 8kb apart. Expression studies demonstrated that Rag-1 are Rag-2 are convergently transcribed.
