Notes
  • Reference
Revised gene symbol: HoxB (formerly Hox-2).
  • Experiment
Somatic cell hybrids from fusions of Chinese hamster or rat cells with mouse cells were used to assign HoxB to mouse Chromosome 11. Chinese hamster hybrid III-16 that contained mouse Chromosome 13 (among others) and had lost mouse Chromosome 11 failed tohybridize with the HoxB probes. Rat x mouse hybrid RTM9, containing only Rb(11.13) hybridized with the probes while subclone RTM9-Bu which lacks Rb(11.13) failed to hybridize to the probes. These data suggest HoxB is located on Chromosome 11.
