  Igk-V28 replaces Igk-VSer. Igk-VSer produces the Igk-Ef1 phenotype. Revised gene symbols: Cd8a and Cd8b (formerly Lyt-2 and Lyt-3 respectively).
• Experiment
  The gene order (Cd8a, Cd8b, Igk-J) - (Igk-V28, Rn7s-6) -Igk-Ef2 was suggested based on analysis of congenic strains. Congenic strains B6.PL(75NS)/Cy, B6.RF-Lyt-2,3^a, C.C58-Lyt-2,3^a, C.AKR-Lyt-2,3^a, AKR.C-Lyt-2,3^a, and C.C58-Lyt-2,3^a carry donoralleles for Igk-V28, Igk-J, Cd8a and Cd8b. Congenic B6.PL(85NS)/Cy carries donor alleles for Igk-J, Cd8a and Cd8b but the host allele for Igk-V28, suggesting that Igk-V28 does not lie between the Igk-J, Cd8a, Cd8b loci. Further, the NAK recombinant strain carries Igk-V28, Igk-J, Rnu7s-6, Cd8a and Cd8b alleles of AKR and the Igk-Ef2 allele of NZB.
