  Somatic cell hybrids were constructed between J558 BALB/c myeloma cells carrying a T(12;15) translocation and Wg3 Chinese hamster cells. Two hybrids carrying the mouse reciprocal translocation products 12¹⁵ and 15¹² and one hybrid carrying mouse Chromosomes 12¹⁵, 15¹² and 15 were all positive for mouse Chromosome 12 genes Fos, Serpina1, Igh-C and Igh-V and mouse Chromosome 15 genes Pdgfb (formerly Sis) and Myc. One hybrid carrying mouse translocation product 12¹⁵ was positive for all of these genes except Igh-V. Combined with other published data, the gene order suggested on Chromosome 12 is: centromere - Serpina1 - Igh-C - Igh-V.
