  Mouse cosmid cos11, which maps to H2-S, contains both loci Hspa1l and Vars2. Since a new human locus D6S56E-2 was found to hybridize to mouse cos11, the mouse homolog, Lsm2, maps to the S region of the H2 complex on Chromosome 17.
