Notes
  • Reference
    Authors use D17Leh119 for D17Leh119I.
  • Experiment
A intercross-backcross (M. spretus x t-haplotype)F1 x M. spretus mating was used to determine a locus for Mas-1. Eight recombinants from a total of 384 mice were analyzed. The use of t-haplotype (t3/t3) was necessary because the region of Chromosome 17 analyzed carries an inversion in M. spretus. This inversion (in(17)2) prevents the recovery of some recombination within that region. The t3 haplotype has the same orientation of genes as that observed in the region inverted in in(17)2 and can be used to avoid the crossover problem. The genes presented here are ordered to represent that seen on the standard mus musculus and not that of in(17)2. A gene order of (D17Leh119I) - (Mas-1) - (Tcp-1) - (Sod-2) is suggested.
