• Experiment
  The location of the gene Psmb9 on Chromosome 17 was refined by the analysis of various MHC recombinant strains. Psmb9 maps to the right of the crossovers defined in strains R35 and R37. The crossover in R35 and R37 are 37.5kb telomeric to H-2Pb. The crossovers in B6.CAS(R23) is 100kb telomeric to H-2Pb and contains the crossover found in B10.SBR. Psmb9 maps to the left of the crossover in B10.SBR, but to the right of the B6.CAS(R23) crossover. These last two crossovers define a region of about 20kb and contain the Psmb9 locus. This 20kb interval also contains the Tap1 gene. The Psmb9 locus is within 1kb of the 5' end of Abcb2.
