  Normal retinas (determined by histology) in the C3H.PRI-Flv^r congenic strain, coincided with the inheritance of polymorphic fragments for Pde6b which were donated by the PRI strain. There was a coinheritance of Ric^r and rd1 wild type alleles on Chromosome 5 with Flv^r from the PRI strain, which suggests Flv^r is also located on mouse Chromosome 5. This was confirmed by PCR analysis of the Gus-s locus, in which C3H.PRI-Flv^r inherited the same fragment as the C3H/HeJ and C57BL/6J.
