  The congenic strain NOD.B6(PL)-D3Nds7 D3Nds8 contains a homozygous segment of Chromosome 3 which includes D3Nds7 and D3Nds8. The NOD alleles for Idd3 in this congenic region contribute to diabetes. A reduction in the frequency of diabetes was observed incongenic strain NOD.B6(PL)-D3Nds7 D3Nds8 as compared with NOD diabetic susceptible mice.
