Notes
  • Experiment
The genetic mapping of a quantitative trait, Mom1 (modifier of Min1), was accomplished using 3 intraspecific backcrosses, C57BL/6J x (AKR/J x C57BL/6-Min)F1, C57BL/6J x (Ma/MyJ x C57BL/6-Min)F1, C57BL/6J x (CAST/Ei x C57BL/6-Min)F1; the simple sequence length polymorphisms (SSLP); and number of mice which exhibited multiple neoplasia tumors. Based on genetic analysis and statistical significance, Mom1 appears to reduce the number of tumors by 12, and maps to mouse Chromosome 4 in the interval between D4Mit13 and D4Mit16 with a LOD score of 14.0 at the peak.
