  Males of the consomic strain B6.LT-Y* (where Y* is the rearranged portion of the Y Chromosome), were mated to female DBA/2J and the F1 progeny typed for sex-chromosome composition using restriction fragment sizes which correspond to the loci TelXqYq1 andTelXqYq2. Fifteen XX females inherited both loci, while 11 XY* males and 3 XO females inherited neither locus. Among 17 recombinants found, 8 XY*^X females and 4 XX^Y* inherited both loci and 5 XX^Y* males inherited neither locus. Authors state this shows close linkage between TelXqYq1 and TelXqYq2 (0 recombinants out of 43 informative offspring), indicating the loci reside within 6.8 cM of each other at 95% confidence.
