• Experiment
  A long range restriction map of the S and D region of H2 in BALB/c genomic DNA was established. A gene order of Bf - Bat6 - Bat5 - Bat4 - Bat3 - Bat2 - Tnfa was illustrated. The Bat3 and Bat2 genes are 30 - 45kb from Tnfa. The Bat4 and Bat5 genes are on a 70kb fragment 30kb from the Bat3 and Bat2 fragment. The Bat6 gene hybridizes to a fragment 70kb from the Bat4 and Bat5 fragment. Typing of 24 B10 congenic strains having recombination in this region, indicates that Hspa1b maps within the S and D region.Sixteen of the recombinants had crossovers between Hsp70 and Tnfa suggestive of a recombination hotspot within the region separating Hspa1b and Tnfa.
