  Pervious QTL mapping of Moe2 to mouse Chromosome 19 was carried out as described in J:102036 Bergren SK, Mamm Genome 2005 Sep;16(9):683-90. Here the authors constructed interval-specific congenic strains (ISCS) to further refine the mapping of Moe2.The use of these strains proved informative to map Moe2 to a 5 Mb region between D19Mit40 and Dblr. Of the 24 potential candidate loci within this region Kcnv2 and Smarca2 were suggested as potential genes that underlie the Moe2 phenotype.
