Notes

Mouse Szt2 was mapped to mouse Chromosome 4 within a genomic region occupied by BC05982. To map Szt2, homozygous Szt2 mice were mated to BALB/cByJ and then crossed to C57BL/6J -Szt2/Szt2 mice. The derived backcross mice were then tested for Szt2 seizures. In all 380 backcross mice were tested showing a peak between D4Mit186 and D4Mit332. Eventually the authors suggested Ensembl marker ENSMUSG00000033253 as the gene underlying Szt2 and BC05982 as the sequence.
