Notes
  • Experiment
    Febrile seizures susceptibility (FS) and
febrile seizure latency (FSL) were determined in both sexes of the host strain
(C57BL/6J), the donor strain (A/J) and mouse chromosome substitution
strains (CSS) to identify novel FS susceptibility quantitative
trait loci. C57BL/6J mice were more susceptible to FS than A/J mice.
    Strains CSS 1, CSS 2, CSS 6, CSS 10, CSS 13 and CSS X representing Chrs 1, 2, 6, 10 ,13 and X respectively were identified as significantly different from strain (C57BL/6J; P <
0.003) and thus are presumed by the authors to contain 1 or more loci that affect FS in mice. These QTLs are symbolized as Fss1(chr1), Fss2(chr2), Fss3(chr6), Fss4(chr10) and Fss5(Chr 13) and Fss6(Chr X).
