  • Experiment
The authors created a deletion map of a portion of mouse Chromosome 4 and measured the loss of heterozygosity (LOH) for lung tumors in order to map a putative tumor suppressor gene. An order was established of D4Mit18 - ~25.2 cM - D4Mit84 - ~1.1 cM - D4Mit81/D4Mit82 - ~3.0 cM - D4Mit27 - ~1.0 cM - D4mit77 - ~1.1 cM - D4Mit15 - ~11.4 cM - D4Mit31. In analyzing 42 lesions, all allelic loss was observed to involve the marker D4Mit77, in 2 cases, LOH was exclusive to this marker. Thus, the putative tumor suppressor gene was localized to an approximate 2 cM region flanking D4Mit77.
