  A 2.5kb DNA fragment was amplified for C57BL/6J XY and XXSxr^a mice using primers derived from Jarid1d probe pcMY2. Probe pcMY2 is derived from sequences 75kb distal to Ube1y1 on the short arm of the Y Chromosome. This same fragment was not amplified ineither C57BL/6J XX female mice or XXSxr^b mice indicating that the locus for Jarid1d maps to the Sxr^a region on the short arm of the Y Chromosome. The Jarid1d locus maps within deletion interval 2 of Sxr^b.
