Notes
  • Reference
The authors use Bmp-2a, Plcb-1 and Nec-2 for Bmp2, Plcb and Pcsk2 respectively. This study identifies two genes, Plcb and Snap, that may be considered candidate genes for Cm.
  • Experiment
To determine whether lm was encompassed in the Cm deletion, a complementation assay was performed with mice from a Cm +/+ + x + lm/+ lm mating. + +/+ lm dams (N = 4) successfully nursed all 27 pups. Cm +/+ lm dams (N = 5) successfully nursed 30 out of 31pups. Because these hybrids produced normal milk it was apparent that lm was complemented by the Cm chromosome and is, therefore outside the Cm deletion.
