  A QTL for proteinuria induced renal collagen deposition (Pircd1) known as type 1 collagen deposition in the kidney was mapped to mouse Chromosome 2. 120 progeny from a backcross of (129S1/svImJ X C57BL/6J)F1 mice with C57BL/6J were used for mapping.Strain analysis indicated that 129S1/svImJ had a higher deposition then did C57BL/6J mice. Pircd1 mapped with D2Mit224 (LRS=11.1, LOD=2.41) in mouse Chromosome 2. The authors indicated that Pircd1 was a suggestive QTL.
