  Analysis of 189 (AKR x SWR/J) F2 mice indicates that a QTL (Dob3) affecting dietary obesity in AKR/J is located on Chromosome 15 between D15Nds2 and D15Mit22 with a peak LOD score of 3.93. The 189 animals used for statistical analysis represent the 10%tails of the phenotype distribution for the total F2 population (931 animals) and may not accurately represent the percentage of variance controlled by this locus. F1 X SWR/J backcross analysis confirmed the F2 mapping.
