  In situ hybridization was performed on >300 metaphase spreads obtained from six genotypes using a segment of Drosophila Bkm DNA as a probe. Three genotypes (X/X Sxr male, X/Y Sxr carrier male and X/X female) were derived from the cross CD1 female x 129/SvPas-Ta Sxr males. Two genotypes (X/X Sxr males and X/Y Sxr carrier males) were from 129/SvPas-Ta Sxr inbred and one genotype from CD1 normal males. Other hybridization sites were observed on the Y Chromosome and Chromosome 4. The Chromosome 17 locus identified is Bkm4.
