• Experiment
  One mouse strain used as the source of metaphase cells contains a heterogeneous staining region (HSR) inserted between bands C and D on the Robertsonian chromosome. Sixty-four percent of the grains localized in this region. In a mouse strain without the HSR, 38% of the grains localized to this region.
