  Using congenic strains B6.CAST17.1 and B6.CAST-17.2 the location of mouse QTL Mnic1 was refined. The donor CAST/EI mice exhibit a greater carbohydrate and calorie intake then do the C57BL/6J host. Mnic1 mapped to the CAST/Ei donor segment between D17Mit19(4.8 Mb) and D17Mit50 (45.5 Mb). Authors list in Table 5 of the text various candidate loci within this segment including Pla2g7, Agpat1, Pde9a, Cyp4f15, Npw, Glo1, Acat2 and Ppard.
