  A genome wide scan using pooled genotyping
  indicated that the eyl mutant mapped with markers in mouse Chromosome 19. Linkage
  analysis of 235 F2 mice (121 affected and 114 unaffected)
  indicated that the ^eyl mutation maps
  between the markers D19Mit19 and D19Mit10 in the region of Pitx3
  
  For linkage analysis, eyl-/- were outcrossed to wild-type
  C57BL/6 mice. Two hundred thirty-five F2 mice from the
  (C3H^eyl-/- X C57BL/6)F1 X C3H^eyl-/- were informative.
