Linkage analysis was originally performed on an (SWR x CBA)F2 intercross population to identify loci affecting resistance/susceptibility to infection by the nematode Heligmosomoides polygyrus. Parental strain SWR is resistant to nematode infection whereas CBA is susceptible. The authors indicate that the mice analyzed in this report were from both the original F2 resource (516 mice) and an additional F6/7 resource(1100 mice). By using these crosses seven additional QTLs were detected by the authors ( in parenthesis is the mouse Chromosome, peak linked STS marker and a physical range in Mb): Hbnr9(Chr 5. D5Mit81, 40Mb-60Mb) , Hbnr10(Chr 5. D5Mit259, 74Mb-98Mb) , Hbnr11(Chr 8. D8Mit195, 74Mb-97Mb) , Hbnr12(Chr 8. D8Mit64-D8Mit205, 34Mb-52Mb) , Hbnr13(Chr 11. D11Mit296, 33Mb-53Mb) , Hbnr14(Chr 11. D11Mit10, 104Mb-122Mb) , Hbnr15(Chr 11. D11Mit227, 7Mb-27Mb) .
