  Fifteen independent recombinant animals were generated from crosses of the wm7 haplotype with a or b haplotyes. Southern analysis of these recombinants indicate that all 15 crossovers ocurred within a 20kb segment between H2-Ab3 and H2-Ab2, with 9 of the15recombinations confined to a short stretch of 1.1kb.
