Authors use Surf3 for locus symbol Rpl7a.
  • Experiment
This report discusses the unusual clustering of the surfeit genes on Chromosome 2 and identifies Surf3 as the Rpl7a gene (L7a ribosomal protein). The physical map of the loci are described as follows: the 3' end of Rpl7a and the 3' end of Surf1 are separated by 70bp; the 5' end of Surf1 and the 5' end of Surf2 are separated by 15-73bp; the 3' end of Surf2 and the 3' end of Surf4 overlap by 133bp.
