    Somatic cell hybrids were from fusion of mouse with either Chinese hamster or rat cells. BglII digested DNA from mouse and hybrid cell lines were probed on Southern blots for Gjb1 using a rat cDNA probe. Diagnostic fragments were observed to segregate in complete accord with Chromosome X. At least two discordancies were observed for all other chromosomes. Assignment to D-F4, distal to the breakpoint of T(X;16)16H was observed. Data not shown.
