  H2-Pb was physically mapped to the H2-K region on mouse Chromosome 17 as indicated by the analysis of strains which had a recombination between H2-K and the I-A region. In B10.AQR the H2-Pb probe mapped to the H2-K region, whereas in A.TL the same probe mapped to the I-A region. As a result of this finding and other evidence the authors indicate that H2-Pb maps between H2-K and H2-Ob. The distance between H2-Pb and H2-Ob was estimated by the authors to be at least 50kb.
