GeneAlleleAssay TypeDescription
Foxn1 Foxn1nu direct sequencing Hfh11 genomic1, Hfh11 genomic2
Notes
  • Reference
Authors use DD240, DD244, and whn for locus symbols D11Bhm1, D11Bhm3, and Hfh11 respectively.
  • Experiment
By comparing the Foxn1 genomic sequence from wild type (C57BL/6J) and nu mice (C57BL/6JHan-nu) the authors determined that in the nu mouse a single base pair deletion in exon3 causes a frame shift mutation and the subsequent termination of the protein coding region within exon6. This indicates that the nude phenotype results from a deleterious mutation within the Foxn1 gene.
