Notes
  • Experiment
PFGE analysis of large DNA fragments detected by the Gabrb1 cDNA and Tec cDNA probes in C57BL/6J, C3H/HeJ, and C57BL/6J-W19H revealed altered restriction patterns associated with changes in chromosomal structure. Tec cDNA detected changed fragments in C57BL/6J-W19H digested with BssHII, MluI, and NotI, while Gabrb1 cDNA detected changed DNA fragments only in C57BL/6J-W19HDNA digested with MluI and NotI. Since Gabrb1, Tec, and D5Mnl25 have been shown to be contained on common MluI and NotI fragments and the BssHII fragment detected by Tec cDNA and not Gabrb1 cDNA is changed in C57BL/6J-W19HDNA, the proximal breakpoint of the C57BL/6J-W19H deletion (Kit-W-19h) was physically mapped between Tec and D5Mnl25.
