    In a (CAST/Ei +/+ x C3HeB/FeJ-dfw/dfw or dfw/+)F1 x C3HeB/FeJ backcross, various recombinant mice were analyzed for Kcna1 and Kcna5. Both Kcna1 and Kcna5 mapped distal to D6Mit44 and had segregation patterns similar to D6Mit12. Additional mice need to betested to confirm that D6Mit12, Kcna5 and Kcna1 co-localize on mouse Chromosome 6. These data provide evidence that neither Kcna1 or Kcna5 are candidates for the dfw phenotype.
