Notes
  • Reference
Authors use DXHX52 and Bmp2-ps1 for locus symbols DXHXS52 and Bmp2-rs1 respectively.
  • Experiment
Mageb1 and Mageb2 were initially mapped to within the proximal half of mouse Chromosome X using mouse x human and mouse x hamster somatic cell hybrids. Authors use analysis of the somatic cell hybrid B20c12, carrying a deleted X mouse chromosome, to separate Mageb1 and Mageb2 They place Mageb1 in a 3 cM region between the breakpoint present in B20c12 and the Ar locus on the mouse X Chromosome and Mageb2 between Dmd and the B20c12 breakpoint, a 2 cM distance. Additionally, authors used the fact that none of the 8 cosmid clones they isolated contained both genes, places Mageb1 and Mageb2 more than 20kb apart on mouse Chromosome X.
