• Experiment
  Physical mapping of YACs containing Gc or Afp and Alb1 was hindered because the YACs containing Gc did not overlap the YACs containing Afp and Alb1. Therefore ends of the YACs were identified by PCR and restriction analysis was used in order to obtain estimates of the distance of Gc from the Afp - Alb1 complex. If Gc is proximal to Alb1, the minimum intergenic distance is estimated to be between 350 and 800kb. If Gc is distal to Afp, the minimum intergenic distance is estimated to be between 200 and 650kb.
