  The authors reported that Sycp1 mapped in band A3 of mouse Chromosome 11. In a subsequent personal communication from Dr. Shona Kerr the mouse Chromosome 11 assignment was revised to show Sycp1 mapped in band A3 of mouse Chromosome 3. With the the support of supplemental information J:42587( Sage J, Genomics 1997 Aug15;(1):118-26), it was determined that the identity of the gene mapped in band A3 of mouse Chromosome 8 is actually an intronless pseudogene.
