  • Reference
    MGD accession numbers for the backcross data and for physical mapping data are MGD-CREX-385 and MGD-PMEX-8 respectively. Tbp and D17Ph4e were proposed by the authors to be prime candidates for Hst1 based on their expression in the testes and complete linkage with Hst1. Authors use D17Leh119, this locus symbol has been split into two symbols D17Leh119I and D17Leh119II.
  • Experiment
    To map the Hst1 locus, the progeny of a (C57BL/10-T/SnPh x C3H/DiPh)F1 x C57BL/10-T/SnPh backcross were analyzed. The presence of T mutation was scored by its short-tail phenotype, and H2-K was done by a microcytotoxicity test, and Southern analysis. Progeny from this cross was further analyzed by RFLP (Restriction Fragment Lenght Polymorphism) using loci D17Le119I, D17Leh119II, D17Rp17e, Tcp1, Sod2, D17Leh80, D17Tu50, Hba-ps4, Pim1 and H2-K. The order of loci were reported as: Centromere - 4.0 cM - D17Leh119I - D17Leh119II - D17Mit18 - D17Mit143 - D17Mit164 - 2.71 cM - D17Rp17e - 0.14 cM - Sod2 - D17Mit57 - D17Mit133 - 0.36 cM - D17Ph2 - D17Ph5e - D17Mit78 - D17Zt6 - D17Zt7 - 0.28 cM - Hst1 - Tbp - D17Ph4e - 0.14 cM - D17Ph1 - 0.86 cM - D17Mit165 - D17Leh80 - 0.21 cM - D17Tu50 - D17Mit59 - 1.71 cM - D17Ph3 - D17Mit133 - 0.43 cM - D17Mit26 - D17Mit43 - D17Mit46 - 0.29 cM - D17Mit100 - D17Mit173 - 0.36 cM - Hba-ps4 - 0.93 cM - D17Mit30 - 0.86 cM - D17Mit29 - 0.50 cM - D17Mit167 - 0.43 cM - Pim1 - D17Mit23- D17Mit45 - D17Mit101 - 0.07 cM - D17Mit61 - 2.72 cM - H2-K - D17Mit62.
