    Various B10 congenic strains vary in susceptibility to alveolar and papillary lung tumors, among these are susceptible strains B10.A(2R) which differs from resistant strain B10.A(4R). The authors investigate whether the susceptible congenic strain B10.A(2R) differs from B10.A(1R). A significant difference was observed between strains B10.A(2R) and B10.A(1R) with the former strains showing more alveolar tumors. B10.A(2R) and B10.A(1R) differ only within a 50kb recombinant region of the H2 complex bounded by Hsp70-3 and Vars2. Therefore Lts1 maps within this region of Chromosome 17. Also mapping within this region are the loci Hspa1l, Lsm2 and D17H6S56E-1.
