  • Experiment
    A loss of heterozygocity has often been found to accompany inactivation of tumor suppressor genes. To that end, authors analyzed the loss of somatic cell heterozygocity in chemically induced tumor tissue using simple sequence length polymorphism (SSLP) analysis to localize suppressor gene candidates. Frequent allelic losses were associated with markers on mouse Chromosome 4. At least two deletion units were found to exist on this chromosome. The proximal region (Tsp4) spans the Ifa gene cluster of about 12 cM, bounded by D4Wsm1 and D4Mit187 and the telomeric region Tsp5 was reported to reside distal to D4Mit204.
