  HindIII digested DNA from rat/mouse somatic cell hybrids F(11)5 (which carried mouse Chromosome 11 as its only mouse chromosome) hybridized with Mdsh probes on Southern blots. A second rat/mouse hybrid containing Rb(11:13) as the only mouse chromosome also showed hybridization with the Mdsh probes. Based on the hybridization data Mdsh is assigned to mouse Chromosome 11.
