  Fine genetic mapping from 4,564 independant meioses in a (CAST/Ei x DF/B df/df)F1 x (CAST/Ei x DF/B df/df)F1 intercross provided the following genetic distances and order on mouse Chromosome 11: D11Mit139 - 0.788 cM - D11Mit153 - 0.568 cM - Prop1 - 0.768cM - D11Mit87 - 1.008 cM - D11Mit140. These data were used to identify the genomic region coding for the df phenotype, and to postionally clone Prop1.
