  • Experiment
Six probes identified by a subtractive hybridization technique (GDRDA) were mapped back to mouse Chromosome 11 in an intercross between (CAST/Ei x DF/B df/df)F1 mice. These probes were associated with loci that mapped with the Prop1 phenotype df and identified a genetic distance of approximately 1.7 Mb deriving an order of: D11Rds1 - D11Rds2 - Prop1 - D11Rds3 - D11Rds4. In addition, two of the probes were non-recombinant with Prop1. The genetic distance of 1.7 Mb was further refined to approximately 400-600kb by pulsed field genomic Southern analysis. These data were informative for obtaining BAC clones that carry Prop1 genomic segments.
